Kayaking From Seaside Beach to Pete´s Beach CA
Places to Kayak - California

Seaside Beach is located 11 miles north of Noyo Harbor off of Highway 1. Parking is free. It is 200 yards over soft sand to the beach so a carrying partner may be in order here. The launch area is unprotected and almost always through surf. Launching here should only be attempted when conditions are mild. The area to the north has extensive rock gardens, sea caves and many small, semi-protected beaches most of which are virtually inaccessible by other means. To the south is the mouth of Ten Mile River and beyond is approximately four miles of mostly sandy beach to Laguna Point.

Wages Creek to Bear Harbor

Wages Creek is located 19 miles north of Noyo Harbor off of Highway 1. This is a private campground and there is a fee for parking. Sometimes you can drive to within 100 yards of the beach over packed sand but conditions can change and other times you may have to park further back.. The launch area is not well protected. Launching here should only be attempted when conditions are mild. Be particularly alert for offshore reefs that may cause waves to crest and break unexpectedly. One of these reefs is approximately 300 yards off of the beach.

Kayaking From Caspar Beach to MacKerricker CA

Caspar Beach to MacKerricker

Caspar Beach* is located approximately six miles south of Noyo Harbor off of Highway 1 on Point Cabrillo Drive. Parking is free. It is less than 100 yards to the water. This launch site provides fair protection and the launch site usually has small surf. It is an excellent place to practice kayak surf skills. Caspar Bay is a very pleasant place to paddle. This site also provides kayak access to paddling the Point Cabrillo Marine Preserve approximately two miles southwest.

Point Arena to Albion

Point Arena Cove* is located 45 miles south of Noyo Harbor off of Highway 1. This is a public facility with free parking and a short walk to the  beach. This site provides reasonably good protection for kayak launching over gravel and cobblestones. This area features some particularly interesting rock formations. There is a pier with vehicle access to launch from as well.
