This kayak paddle is extremely light and versatile yet very sturdy.  The paddle is made of carbon fiber and is very easy to use.  The Werner Kalliste Kayak Paddle is great for long paddles trips as well as a day on the ocean or lake kayaking.  The Kalliste Kayak Paddle Blade has a ribless back which makes the kayak paddle very smooth on every stroke. The kayak paddle is also equipped with drip rings that will reduce the amount of water from dripping onto your lap or hands while paddling.  Since the design of the paddle is a 2 piece break down it makes it very easy to travel with or even store inside the car or in a paddle bag.  The reason that the Werner Kalliste Kayak Paddle has a bent shaft is because it aligns the wrist when paddling your kayak.  With your wrist aligned it takes stress off of your forearms and muscles to allow for an easier stroke and less strain. Even though the Kalliste kayak paddle is a 2 piece design once the paddle pieces interlock the feeling of a 1 piece paddle fill your hands and it is impossible to tell that it is a breakdown 2 piece paddle.  The feathering angle on the Werner Kalliste is adjustable from 0 degrees all the way to 75 degrees right or left and the adjustments on the kayak paddle are all in 15 degree increments. The two hand grips have a special area on the Kalliste with perfect placement to improve control and to maintain complete comfort from the kayaking captain’s chair. Every stroke from the midsized blades produces power and stability that ensures maximum paddling efficiency all day long.
